Meet the Cast

Charlie is the star. These are the people in his Park Avenue life: the ones who love him, the ones who feed him too much, and the ones who complain about his barking.

Cartoon Fluffy
the protector

Fluffy

Charlie's hooman (that's how Fluffy says it), chauffeur, personal shopper and full-time bodyguard. Charlie is Fluffy's everything, and everybody knows it.

In the game, you play as Fluffy.

Cartoon Grandpa
the lovable hazard

Grandpa

Loses his dentures (or flushes them, and clogs the toilet), drops his pills, leaves the stove on, and bakes very buttery potatoes. Can't always see Charlie underfoot. Means so well.

Game hazards: pills, gas, potato fires, clogged toilets, big feet.

Cartoon Maid
the 7am chaos agent

The Maid

Arrives at 7:00 AM sharp and wakes everyone up. Throws out things that aren't trash and moves everything else somewhere secret.

Game hazards: Chicken in the trash, Lamb Lamb gone missing.

Cartoon building Super
the building grump

The Super

Says Charlie barks too much. Says no dogs in the elevator. Promises repairs "next week." It is always next week.

Game hazards: door knocks, violation notices, leaks.

Cartoon Aunty with a leashPuppy, a little white Maltese
the walking buddies

Aunty & Puppy

Aunty takes Charlie out for walks around the Upper East Side with her own dog, Puppy, a little white Maltese with a brown harness. Charlie and Puppy are best friends.

In the game, answer the door and they take Charlie out for a walk.

Cartoon Uncle with a bag of treats
the pushover

Uncle

Well-meaning and powerless against puppy eyes. Charlie knows it. Uncle sneaks treats while Fluffy is keeping him on a diet, then plays until Charlie is bouncing off the walls.

Game hazards: tummy aches and zoomies.

Cartoon waiter carrying a martini
the fan club

The Crew at Paola's

The warm, welcoming team at Paola's Osteria. They know Fluffy's order by heart and treat Charlie like the guest of honor he is.

Every night: Pollo al Limone, a martini, and Evian.

the glam squad

The Groomers at Canine Styles

Charlie's Friday spa team on Lexington Avenue. Scissor cuts, Les Poochs baths and hand blow-outs. He goes in a dog and comes out a cloud.

dinner, always together

Dinner at Paola's

For dinner, Charlie and Fluffy always eat together at Paola's Osteria, the Italian spot in Carnegie Hill on the Upper East Side.

Everyone at Paola's knows them, and they couldn't be more welcoming. When these two walk in, they are the stars of the show.

Table manners: impeccable.
every Friday, without fail

Spa Day at Canine Styles

Charlie's weekly grooming happens at Canine Styles on Lexington Avenue, between 81st and 82nd. Established in 1959, it bills itself as New York's oldest dog emporium, and Charlie treats it like his private club.

His bath is Les Poochs only: the luxury dog shampoo and crème rinse developed in the South of France. He comes home soft, shiny and smelling spectacular, then walks down Park Avenue like it's a runway.

The Canine Styles promiseHand blow-outs only. No cage dryers, no sedatives, no rough handling, and every grooming station in full view. Charlie approves.

Charlie's Wish List

If you really love Charlie, you're gonna get him what he wants.

#1 most wanted

An egg maker

Charlie has never eaten an egg. Not once. He has seen eggs. He has smelled eggs. He is very, very curious about eggs. What he wants most in the whole world is an egg maker, so he can finally find out what all the fuss is about.

(Fluffy will cook them plain, the way vets like.)

Charlie's favorite brand

Anything from Hermès

Charlie loves Hermès. A collar, a leash, a bowl, a blanket, a little toy: if it's from Hermès, he wants it. Get Charlie something from Hermès and Charlie will really, really like you. Like, a lot.

the big dream
QUEEN MARY 2

A Queen Mary 2 crossing

A week across the Atlantic in the Deck 12 kennels, with a fire hydrant from home and cooked chicken on request. If you really, really love Charlie…

A backup Lamb Lamb

For emergencies. There are a lot of emergencies.

A case of Evian

Obviously.

every single week

The Petco Run

Charlie rides through Petco in a shopping cart. The rule is simple and sacred: if he sniffs it, Fluffy buys it. Push the cart and see what he picks.

Exhibit A: the KONG bear

Here is the rule in action. Charlie spots the plush wall, leans out of the cart, and gives the brown KONG Knots bear one long, serious sniff. It went in the cart. Of course it went in the cart.

The Petco Dash

Race Charlie's cart through a crowded Petco. Grab Lamb Lamb, Chicken and every toy he sniffs; dodge the grumpy dogs, the other shoppers and that wet floor. Best on iPhone.

The Furniture Olympics

Charlie is very smart, which means he knows exactly where he isn't supposed to be. Tables. Couches. Anything with altitude. One perfect leap, every time.

Land Shark Alert System

When Charlie gets frustrated, he can turn into a land shark: a small, fluffy, very bitey one. Try the scenarios below and watch the alert level.

Field Guide to Land Sharks

  1. Do not offer fingers. Fingers are not toys. (He thinks they are.)
  2. Deploy Lamb Lamb immediately.
  3. Redirect those little teeth onto Chicken.
  4. Stay calm. Sharks can sense drama.
  5. When in doubt, go for a walk. Walks fix almost everything.
He's still a very, very good boy. ♥

Our Adventures

Notes from the life and times of Charlie & Fluffy.

A Night Out with Fluffy

Tan leather harness on. Front-row seat at the table. Charlie stared straight down the camera like he owned the place, while Fluffy couldn't stop smiling at him. A perfect night out.

Every week

The Great Petco Cart Ride

Charlie gets lifted into a shopping cart and chauffeured down every aisle like a tiny king on a parade float. Every sniff is a purchase decision. Fluffy pays. Everyone wins (especially Charlie).

10:00am

Park O'Clock

Central Park's dog park, usually at 10am sharp. Charlie arrives, does a lap of hellos, then launches straight into zoomies with the crew. He comes home tired, happy, and a little bit grassy.

Favorite trip

Fountain Days at the Met

One of their go-to outings: the David H. Koch Plaza fountains, right outside the Met's Fifth Avenue entrance. Every kid on the plaza comes running to pet Charlie and say hi. He takes it very seriously. He is, after all, a celebrity.

Every Friday

Spa Day

Every Friday, Charlie heads to Canine Styles on Lexington, and his bath is Les Poochs only: the luxury dog shampoo and crème rinse developed in the South of France. He goes in a dog. He comes out a soft, shiny, wonderful-smelling cloud. The walk home down Park Avenue is basically a runway show.

Whenever possible

The Summit

The couch was conquered. Then the table. Fluffy turned around for one second, and there he was: up top, sitting politely, as if he had been invited.

All day, every day

Mayor of the Block

Charlie has a lot of friends in the neighborhood: dogs, neighbors, and anyone who slows down long enough to say hi. Walks take twice as long, even the late-night ones. Worth it.

A few times a week

Walkies with Aunty & Puppy

Aunty swings by and takes Charlie for a stroll around the Upper East Side with her dog, Puppy, a little white Maltese in a brown leather harness. One tuxedo, one snowball. They stop traffic on Lexington.

Whenever Uncle visits

The Treat Negotiations

Fluffy: "He's on a diet." Charlie: puppy eyes. Uncle: "Just one." Charlie: more puppy eyes. Uncle: the whole bag. Then they play tug until Charlie is doing laps of the living room. Every. Single. Visit.

Ongoing

The Evian Situation

Charlie drinks Evian. Only Evian. He is a Park Avenue dog with Park Avenue standards, and frankly, we respect it.

first class only

Jet-Set Charlie

Charlie loves to travel. He has standards about it, too: he only flies first class. He has been to Los Angeles, he has felt the sand between his paws, and now he has his eyes on the open sea.

Greetings fromLOS ANGELES

Sand between his paws

Charlie's favorite discovery in Los Angeles: the beach. Warm sand under his paws, ocean air in his fur, and a trail of tiny paw prints all the way down to the water. Manhattan has a lot of things. It does not have that.

Next voyage · the dream

The Queen Mary 2

a week at sea for a Manhattan dog

Charlie's big dream is a transatlantic crossing on Cunard's Queen Mary 2, one of the very few ocean liners with kennels for dogs on board. For a boy who lives in Manhattan, a whole week out on the ocean sounds absolutely perfect.

  • Kennels up on Deck 12, with a kennel master looking after the four-legged guests
  • An outdoor play deck with a lamppost and a red fire hydrant, so it feels like home
  • Freshly cooked chicken on request (Charlie has already requested it)
  • A portrait session with the ship's photographer. He's ready.
Help Charlie set sail ♥
